This study trip undertaken by students of the MIPC Students to Akagera National Park on 10th October 2025. The purpose of the trip was to enhance students’ practical understanding of wildlife tourism, conservation practices, and sustainable tourism management, which align with their curriculum in hospitality and tourism industry.
Objectives of the Trip
The main objectives of the study trip were:
 To expose students to the operations and management of a national park.
 To observe and understand the role of conservation in tourism development.
 To assess visitors experiences and hospitality services within a protected area.
 To bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application in ecotourism and wildlife tourism.
The study trip to Akagera National Park was highly educational and met its intended objectives. It offered students a valuable opportunity to contextualize their classroom learning in a real-life tourism and conservation settings, The experiences will undoubtedly contribute to their professional growth in the hospitality and tourism sector.
