MIPC Level 5 Software Development Students Explore Innovation Labs at Bridge
On 27 February, Muhabura Integrated Polytechnic College (MIPC) Level 5 Software Development (SOD) students carried out an educational study trip to Bridge, aimed at strengthening their practical skills and career exposure.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to tour and interact with several specialized workshops and innovation labs at Bridge. These hands-on sessions allowed learners to see how different technologies and creative fields connect with software development and the broader ICT ecosystem.
The students visited:
• Design Lab, focusing on digital design, UI/UX, and creative product development
• VR/Gaming Lab, introducing immersive technologies, game development, and virtual reality applications
• GreenTech Lab, showcasing sustainable and environmentally focused technology solutions
• Textile Lab, demonstrating how digital tools and software integrate with modern textile design and production

Through these workshops, students gained a deeper understanding of how software development integrates with design, gaming, sustainability, and manufacturing sectors. The sessions highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary skills, innovation, and adaptability in today’s job market.
Bridge staff also explained their structured internship and training programs, aligned with the TVET curriculum and labor market needs, emphasizing mentorship, collaboration, and professional skill development.
The study trip was highly engaging and inspiring, enabling students to connect theory learned in class with real-world applications.
